Circular No. (4 / 2024)
Regarding Tourist Yachts Transiting the Suez Canal

In order to encourage tourist yachts to transit the Suez Canal and attract them to boost tourism in the Red Sea, the Suez Canal Authority has made the following decisions:

Article One:
Yachts with a gross tonnage of 300 tons or more are eligible for the following transit facilitation through the Suez Canal:
1- Inclusion in the direct convoy of ships, in line with the regulations outlined in the SC Rules of Navigation and the guidelines for the Canal Transit.
2- Direct transit without waiting at the anchorage in the Great Lakes area, according to the provisions of the SC Rules of Navigation.

Article Two:
Yachts (small vessels) with a total tonnage of less than 300 tons (SCGT) shall be eligible for the following transit incentives:
1- Yachts travelling from the north to the Red Sea will receive a 20% discount on transit fees for the return journey, provided they cross the Suez Canal again from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean within a maximum of sixty (60) days from the initial trip.
2- Yachts that store at the Ismailia Yacht Marina for more than ninety (90) days will be granted a 20% discount on transit fees for the journey during which the storage occurred, regardless of whether the journey was from the north or south.
3- Yachts that arrive at an appropriate time for transit and moor at the yacht marina in Port Said or Suez to complete transit procedures will receive a 50% discount on mooring fees at these marinas, provided they do not stay overnight or use any services (electricity, water, etc.).

Article Three:
Application Requirements for Small Floating Units Mentioned in Article (Two) Above:
1- The discount granted in paragraph (A)
A. The agent must submit a letter specifying the expected date of the yacht’s return journey from the Red Sea, if it previously crossed the Suez Canal on its outbound trip.
B. The agent’s letter must include proof that Circular No. 4/2024 has been delivered to the yacht’s owner, signed and stamped, to allow the Authority to monitor and apply the reduction within the specified period.
2- The discount granted in Paragraph (B)
A. The agent of the yacht intended for storage at Ismailia Marina must submit a letter indicating the requested storage duration.
B. The agent’s letter must be accompanied by proof that Circular No. 4/2024 has been delivered to the yacht’s owner, signed and stamped.
C. A statement of the yacht’s storage duration at Ismailia Yacht Marina before departure must also be provided to apply the reduction as outlined in the previous article.

B. A document, attached to the letter, confirming that a signed and stamped copy of circular No. 4/2024 has been delivered to the yacht owner.
