Further to the instructions issued by the Maritime Transport Sector No. 1 of 2021 Sent to Chamber of Shipping on 10/01/2021 Concerning the intention of the Ministry of Finance (Customs Authority) to activate the provision of Article 39 of the Customs Law No. 207 for the year 2020 Which introduced the pre-registration system for shipments “Advanced Cargo Information ACI” as well as the decision issued by the Minister of Finance No. 38 for the year 2021 in the same regard, which includes the start of the experimental implementation of the pre-registration system for shipments (ACI) arriving seaports from 01/04/2021 as a “first stage” and the actual binding implementation of this system starts from 01/07/2021.
In the context of the maritime transport sector’s keenness on the interests of port community dealers and shipping chambers, the warning must be repeated to apply the rules of customs law provisions and the decision issued by the aforementioned Minister of Finance empirically from 01/04/2021 which refers to :-
The obligation of the carriers, the Master of the Vessel, their shipping agents or their representatives to include No. of the initial customs registration “Advanced Cargo Information Declaration ACI” With the shipping documents for the cargo coming into the country, in case not including this number in the shipping documents. This cargo is shipped out of the country without being discharged into Egyptian ports at the expense of the carrier or his representative.
