We were honored to take part in a high-level meeting at the Suez Canal Authority, led by H.E. Admiral Osama Rabie, and attended by Vice Chairman Admiral Ashraf Atwa, members of the SCA Board, and senior representatives of major global carriers and maritime stakeholders.

During the session, Mr. Mahmoud El Kady, representing KADMAR SHIPPING, 𝐄𝐆𝐘𝐏𝐓, emphasized the importance of close coordination between the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) regarding the recent classification of the Red Sea as a high-risk zone.

He stressed the need for unified regulatory dialogue and operational alignment to safeguard international maritime trade, strengthen navigational security, and ensure the fair treatment and protection of seafarers and shipping operators, in cooperation with global seafarer bodies and maritime organizations.

Mr. El Kady also highlighted the importance of engaging international insurance companies and P&I Clubs to ensure balanced, data-driven risk assessments and fair application of war-risk premiums, in a manner that supports vessel operators and maintains the competitiveness of key trade routes.

He emphasized that Egypt continues to play a pivotal role as a stabilizing maritime hub, calling for proactive collaboration to support safe navigation and sustain uninterrupted global supply chains.

He highlighted the strategic role Egypt continues to play in ensuring safe and efficient navigation, and called on stakeholders to:

✅ Enhance collaboration to mitigate operational and risk-related challenges
✅ Introduce targeted incentives for strategic vessel segments – including oil tankers, cruise ships, yachts, and bulk carriers – whose schedules can adapt swiftly to resumed canal transits
✅ Support global fleet confidence and facilitate the sustainable return of traffic through the Canal

At KADMAR, we remain committed to working hand-in-hand with the Suez Canal Authority and international partners to reinforce Egypt’s position as a secure, competitive, and essential global maritime hub.

Notably, throughout the discussions, several leading shipping lines reaffirmed their trust in the Suez Canal and confirmed their plans to resume regular transits from early 2026, reflecting confidence in the region’s stability and Egypt’s proactive maritime leadership.

Moving forward together reinforcing resilience, global connectivity, and the future of maritime navigation through the Suez Canal.
