KADMAR welcomes the recent announcement by the Ministry of Transport Egypt regarding the introduction of 11 new measures aimed at strengthening Egypt’s position as a premier destination for international luxury yachts.
These measures reflect a practical and forward-looking approach to maritime tourism development, focusing on procedural simplification, operational flexibility, and digital transformation.
Among the key initiatives:
- Streamlined bunkering procedures, including local settlement of fuel subsidy differentials to facilitate seamless fueling at berth.
- Permission for offshore anchoring in designated coastal areas and in front of tourist hotels, subject to regulatory approvals.
- Flexibility for yacht owners to amend voyage itineraries during their stay via the unified digital window.
- Authorization for recreational watercraft usage within approved anchorage zones.
- Access to 47 Egyptian islands for regulated tourism and marine activities.
- Facilitation of crew and passenger changes at Egyptian ports.
- Launch of an integrated digital platform and mobile application connecting all relevant authorities, targeting approval times of less than 30 minutes.
These reforms were highlighted during MARLOG 15 and align with Egypt’s broader strategy to position itself as a competitive regional hub for maritime tourism across the Mediterranean and the Red Sea.
The coordinated integration of defense, customs, immigration, environmental, and maritime safety authorities into a unified approval system marks a significant advancement in service efficiency and investor confidence.
KADMAR views these developments as a meaningful step toward enhancing Egypt’s attractiveness to high-value yacht traffic, while maintaining regulatory integrity and environmental oversight.
We remain committed to supporting the growth of maritime tourism through professional agency services, operational excellence, and strategic collaboration with all stakeholders.
Please be guided accordingly.
Best Regards
