The latest Lloyd’s List One Hundred Ports report for 2025 recognizes two key Egyptian gateways among the world’s elite:

  • Port Said Port (Suez Canal Area): Ranked 53rd globally. While container throughput fell slightly year on year, SCCT saw gateway volume grow 10%
  • Alexandria Port (Mediterranean): Ranked 90th globally. Alexandria Port is returning to the list as it was last featured in Lloyd’s List’s Top 100 four years ago.
