The port serves cruise vessels, yachts and supply ships calling at Sharm El Sheikh and the nearby Ras Mohammed area, which is a protected natural reserve. Environmental and navigational regulations are therefore strictly applied.

. Speed Limits: maximum speed in specified environmental areas is 4 knots.
. Ballast Water: vessels must comply with Egyptian and international ballast water management regulations.
