President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has signed Law No. 176 of 2023 giving the Safaga terminal operating company the obligation to build and develop the superstructure, use, manage, operate, exploit, maintain, and redeliver a multi-purpose terminal within the scope of the Safaga Sea Port in Safaga city.

The Safaga terminal operating company is an Egyptian joint stock company under the system of private free zones. It is currently under construction.

The company is set to be established through a consortium of companies: Abu Dhabi Ports Company, Golden Anchor Ships Operator Limited and Silver Anchor Facilities Management Limited.

The law was published in the official gazette on Thursday under law number 176 for 2023.
