Please find attached the Suez Canal Authority Operational Updates regarding the Mooring, Searchlight Requirements & Service Charges
- Cancellation of Previous Circular
– Notice to Mariners No. (1) of 2024 will be cancelled as of 15 May 2026. - Mooring Services
– Mooring operations will be conducted from shore stations without boarding personnel.
– Applies to all vessels unless special arrangements are in place.
– The Authority may require certain vessels (e.g., towed units, drilling rigs, special units) to receive onboard mooring services.
– If a vessel refuses or is unable to comply, a tug will be assigned at the vessel’s expense. - Light (Searchlight) Requirements
– All vessels must provide their own compliant searchlight as per SCA Rules of Navigation (Dec 2020).
– No electricians will board vessels.
– Inspection will take place during the first transit, with re-inspection if required.
– Non-compliance will result in a USD 500 fine per transit. - Service Charges
– Vessels ≥ 2,500 GT: USD 3,800 (lump sum)
– Vessels < 2,500 GT: USD 2,350 (lump sum) - This circular shall come into force as of 15 May 2026.
