The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) decided to adopt the Chinese Yuan among the acceptable currencies for the payment of Suez Canal transit tolls.

This decision follows the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) inclusion of the Yuan on it’s Special Drawing Rights (SDR) basket, aiming to facilitate smoother trade with China.
